Portable Xray and Digital Xray processor
Digital Xray allows us to develop radiographs instantly without having us to use darkrooms for processing films. The advent of digital radiography gives us many advantage over that of traditional veterinary radiography.
- Instant development means less time under anaesthetic which is safer for your animal family and cheaper for you.
- Digital manipulation of images means that even if exposure isn’t exactly right we can change it digitally. This means we take less x-rays which is safer for your pet and cheaper for you.
- Allows us to simply and safely take sequential series of radiographs for contrast studies of the gastrointestinal and urinary tracts.

Ultrasound
Corry & O’Hare Vets have a top of the range ultrasound imager. Whilst radiographs are fantastic for checking for major changes in bone and lung, ultrasound examination allows a more indepth view of tissue structures in real time. Ultrasound examination tends to be much more accurate in differentiating between tissue types and is fantastic at assisting with diagnosis of abdominal problems.
Doppler ultrasound allows for interpretation of blood flows within the vascular system and helps with the diagnosis of cardiac abnormalities.
Corry & O’Hare Vets are unique in the locality, in that we have an endoscopic ultrasound probe. This advanced diagnostic tool allows us to scan the body from internally allowing more accurate diagnosis of soft tissue problems that may not be visible when scanned from outside the body.
Endoscopy
Endoscopy is the examination of bodily cavities that may not be possible with other diagnostic tools. These internal cameras allow us to look directly at structures such as the stomach, lungs and upper gastrointestinal tract.
Many veterinary endoscopes are repurposed from human medicine or large animal practice. The large size of these instruments make it difficult to safely gain access to the body cavities of our smaller patients. Corry & O’Hare Vets have invested in purpose made small animal endoscopic equipment which allows us to very accurately perform comprehensive exams of places like the nasal cavity and pharynx as well as accommodating the needs of our smaller feline patients.
Our endoscopic ultrasound allows us to scan the areas on the immediate areas outside the body cavities which may not be visible from other diagnostic tools.
Advanced Imaging
Corry & O’Hare Vets work closely with referral hospitals that can provide CT and MRI scans for very specific conditions. Whilst not commonly required for most diagnoses, when necessary we will arrange for these specialist examinations for you.
