Infection control
Corry & O’Hare Vets take the comfort and safety of our patients very seriously! We operate a clean hospital policy meaning we have restricted public access to the inpatient and operating areas of our clinic. This Gold standard practice means reduced traffic through our inpatient areas with a reduction in external bacterial burdens, so reducing post-operative infection risk. It also reduces pathogen burden on our ill or immunosuppressed patients. No external or street clothing is permitted in the inpatient areas and we change our shoes between public and patient areas.
Cattery
We love our cats! And we know that feline patients in particular are very sensitive to stress. In order to minimise hospital stress we have implement cat friendly policies in our cattery

- Non facing kennels to prevent direct confrontation between feline patients.

Dog Kennels
Our separate dog kennels mean minimal provocative contact between different patient species.

Exotics, ferals and wildlife
Corry & O’Hare Vets is a wildlife friendly clinic. We happily accept and treat wildlife patients before transferring to an appropriately trained rehabilitator. We have separate facilities for the safe and comfortable hospitalisation of these patients.
Corry & O’Hare Vets is an exotic friendly hospital. We have inhouse caging facilities for all type of birds and a clean vivarium for reptiles.
Corry & O’Hare Vets work closely with a number of local cat charities and provide low cost neutering for feral cats. We have a separate hospitalisation area for stray cats which reduced stress for them, but also helps prevent transmission of infectious disease such as cat flu which are endemic in the local stray cat population.
Isolation
Corry & O’Hare Vets has a separate isolation facility for animals suffering from infectious, transmissible diseases. As part of our clean practice policy, we use barrier nursing to prevent spread of these conditions.
